Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.
Typically, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies or received as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain level before they are upgraded.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the user must select it and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are jewels that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For example the addition of the suffix Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each item can only be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the impact of these items, rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.
If an item is finished being leveled in this way, it is eligible for a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its maximum level, it will be able to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's kind. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not reach its maximum level, the NPC grants the player the choice to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower rate of success.
To measure the height of a building, engineers will employ a level to compare the measurement against a known reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and level, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to the highest degree of precision and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential element of the game, and it can boost the damage, strength or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be used sparingly.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level filled.
Prior to this, certain upgrade item s were given priority affixes which made them easier for players to roll. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for all stats. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item could come with a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.
The game also features several sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an item. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending a lot of money.
Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the early stages of the game. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, which allows you to progress in the game and reach higher levels.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can be different sizes, have no elements, or only contain one element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. However, weapon upgrades often don't improve the item's stats much as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own lots of weapons or armor pieces already.
Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own special functions, which can be particularly useful in some builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement were increased as well).
Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. It will show the item's characteristics, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when fully updated. Particularly for weapons with damage glyphs for spells or weapons upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their performance. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
